1. Open Public Hearing: Textbooks or Instructional Materials Time Certain: 06:55 PM

Board President Michael Gipe will open the Public Hearing for 2008-09 Sufficiency or Insufficiency of Textbooks or Instructional Materials as required by Education Code 60119. The public is invited to send comments to the Saratoga Union School District Board of Trustees at 20460 Forrest Hills Drive, Saratoga, CA 95070 or to email comments to board@saratogausd.org. Comments may also be sent to Superintendent Lane Weiss at the above address or by email to lweiss@saratogausd.org. The public hearing will be closed on September 23, 2008.

2. Approval of J200 - 2007-08 Unaudited Actuals and 2008-09 Budget Time Certain: 07:00 PM (V)

Chief Business Official, Ellen Tipton will present the J200, 2007-08 Unaudited Actuals and the 2007-08 Budget for Board approval.

3. Property Tax Reports Time Certain: 07:15 PM

Chief Business Official Ellen Tipton will present a report on both the Property Tax Income History and Final for 2007/08 and the Property Tax Income Estimates for 2008/09.

4. Resolution No. 335.9/08 for Adopting the "GANN" Limit Time Certain: 07:25 PM (V)

Chief Business Official, Ellen Tipton, will review the annual GANN Appropriations Limit and Appropriating Revenue and request the Boards's approval of Resolution No. 335.9/08.

5. PROPOSED SUSD Budget Reserve Policy - First Reading Time Certain: 07:40 PM (V)

Superintendent Lane Weiss will present a proposed SUSD Budget Reserve Policy for First Reading.

6. SUSD 2009-10 Calendar Discussion Time Certain: 08:00 PM

Superintendent Lane Weiss will begin discussion of the SUSD 2009-2010 district calendar. A copy of the Los Gatos - Saratoga Joint Union High School District proposed calendar for 2009-2010 will be shared.

7. School Resource Officer (SRO) Update Time Certain: 08:10 PM

Superintendent Lane Weiss will update the board on information regarding the School Resource Officer.

8. Solar Update Time Certain: 08:20 PM

Superintendent Lane Weiss will give the board an update on the study of solar energy use in SUSD.

9. Board Meeting Calendar Discussion Time Certain: 08:30 PM (V)

Board members will discuss a proposed change in the board meeting calendar for October 2008.

10. First Reading - 5000 Series - Students Time Certain: 08:40 PM

Superintendent Lane Weiss and Assistant Superintendent Beth Polito will present Board Policy Series 5000s - Students - for First Reading.

11. Report on Letter to Grand Jury regarding Inventory Practices in Santa Clara County School Districts Time Certain: 08:55 PM

Superintendent Lane Weiss will report on the response to the letter dated June 4, 2008 from the Grand Jury regarding inventory practices in Santa Clara County School Districts.
